As such, it can be used for a variety of styles, from landscape and street photography to portrait and product photography. In this meetup, we’ll review the basic camera settings. We’ll then cover some of the advantages of shooting with a prime lens, and some basic techniques to using the 50mm lens. Hey guys! My name is Dale Alford. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, a graduate of Central High School and LSU. Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager and I love a wide diversity of photography genres. To me, photography is a science and an art and combining those two can be very powerful. I'm always open to learning and trying out different ideas in order to not become stale and boring.

Hope to see you, let's have some fun and learn together!

I booked a cabin in the woods of Murfreesboro, Arkansas on the bank of the Little Missouri River almost 2 years ago......just so we could be in the path of totality. Me and my wife, all three kids, one son-in-law, as well as my brother-in-law and his wife, all took the trip there....just to witness this amazing event.....and we were not disappointed! It was truly indescribable!

I went to the lake hoping to see the migration of the white pelicans. From my standpoint, there were very few. However, there were other worthy birds swimming or flying by. I set my eye on this egret as he flew across the water toward where I was standing. I tried my best to catch it in flight. I knew I would lose sight of it because of the tree branches. Not one to miss an opportunity, I kept clicking after I noticed it above me and hearing rustling of the leaves. It wasn't until I got h

The sun rises directly between the east and west spans of Interstate 10 here two days out of the year....once on it's way north as the days are getting longer, and again as the sun moves south as the days get shorter. I try very hard to be in this spot for both days.....hoping for a colorful sunrise as the sun peeks above the horizon!

While visiting Cannon Beach, Oregon for Spring Break this year, we were treated to beautiful blue skies, warm weather, stars AND airglow at night! I was absolutely giddy about seeing those stars! Now I hope you all know how extremely rare this combination is on the pacific coast in spring. It's normally overcast and raining and definitely no stars to be seen. Thank you universe for allowing your magic to flow this evening. I truly appreciate you and your powers ??

to create this I used a piece of Teal vinyl for the backdrop, I had the camera, with a 30 mm Marco lens on a tripod set to manual focus, with focus staking of 10 shots I only used 5 in the end). for lighting I had two static lights on mini stands so I could play about with their placement to get the effect I was looking for. The dandelion seed was held in place, by putting it into a piece of white tack, I then sprayed it using a little electronic face atomiser (bought from Amazon) and loa

Decided to make a composite that resembles the photo that NASA took with their millions of dolllar photo equipment. 2 months ago I photographed the full moon and placed it on top of the most recent solar eclipse photo I took. The moon normally get its light from the sun so getting the perspective with moon visibility is impossible during an eclipse unless you have nasa gear. My photo was taken with a canon R5, RF400mm F2.8 and cropped in.
